TRIGLASS® GRP composite profiles for the rail sector

Image

Composite materials and pultrusion allow manufactured products with complex shapes that have excellent mechanical properties and significant resistance to corrosion (whether caused by chemicals or stray current).
In addition, Top Glass has developed specific formulas for over twenty years which give profiles high self-extinguishing characteristics and limited toxicity of smoke in the presence of fire. This enables their use also within railway passenger cars and tunnels.
The standard cable trays from our catalogue, as well as customized versions, have long been valued by small scale installers. They have also been used by larger clients in important large scale infrastructure projects such as the English Channel Tunnel.
The lightness of composites and their high resistance allows use in above ground electrical ducting (such as the ARCO EINS and ARCO ZWEI systems). They offer considerable savings in time and transportation as well as maintenance.
Some applications include: pedestrian emergency walkways in the event of breakdowns or fire; emergency handrails; light supports; waiting benches; disabled access ramps to modernise stations; and architectural and acoustic elements. These are just a few examples of the many successful uses of TRIGLASS® profiles.
